Skilled Workforce with Strong Work Ethic Price County is known for well-educated, highly-skilled employees who have a strong work ethic and sense of pride in their community. Price County's entrepreneurial spirit featuring high tech wood products, plastics, and tool and die has developed one of the strongest manufacturing bases in the state. Manufacturing jobs represent 39% of the jobs in the county. Price County has a much higher concentration of manufacturing jobs than the statewide average. NWCEP is located at 400 4th Avenue, Park Falls. A leader in workforce development in Northwestern Wisconsin for over 40 years, NWCEP is strengthening our region, one person, one business, and one job at a time. Along with providing employment and training activities to citizens in our region, CEP also works with other programs such as Vocational Rehabilitation, Pathways to Independence, and the Health Resources and Services Administration. Using a client-based case management system, CEP staff track worker training, expenses, and outcomes, providing real-time evaluation data useful to all programs. The agency’s partners include service providers for people with disabilities, veterans, at risk youth, students, older workers, and the general public. This strategic placement provides a significant advantage in connecting potential users of workforce development services and other work-related services in the region of Northwest Wisconsin. The Price County Job Center is located at Northcentral Technical College in Phillips, where resources are provided for workers, job seekers, and employers. For workers and job seekers, the center offers help with resumes and career planning, plus it provides information on available jobs. Employers can access training services, including job readiness and job retention skills for their employees, as well as information on employment-related tax incentives and training grants.
